FAQ

What Causes Unwanted Hair Growth?

Hair growth is the result of heredity and hormone levels. Sometimes temporary methods of hair removal, certain drugs and illnesses can stimulate hair growth.

How Many Electrolysis Treatments Will I Need?

Many factors influence hair growth, so you may need to return for several treatments. The total number of treatments needed to remove hair permanently from a particular area will vary from person to person. The unwanted hair will be gone for good once the series of treatments is complete. Each treatment lasts between 15 minutes and one hour depending on the hair growth and area treated.

Is Electrolysis painful?

In most cases, electrolysis actually does not cause much discomfort. Using the Apilus electrolysis machine means that the treatment is extremely comfortable with a mere tingling sensation at most being felt.

How Does it Work?

An electric current is applied with a very fine needle-shaped electrode into each hair follicle to destroy the root. The hair follicle is an opening in the skin and the electrode slides down to the root.
Hair grows in different stages: growing, resting and shedding. Because all of the hair isn’t on the same stage at any given time, multiple sessions are needed to get the hair in the growth phase for electrolysis hair removal to be most effective- just like laser hair removal.
